Belle Lam

Fascinated by the properties and characteristics of different materials, Belle finds joy in experimenting and understanding the relationship between form and function.
Her pottery journey started in 2010, in a quaint little studio in Penang under the guidance of a Japanese sensei. She then took on a 2-year apprenticeship with local master potter Chuan Siang Boon followed by a residency in Seto (Japan) under sensei Kato Hiroshige after completing her diploma in Applied Chemistry and Materials Science.
These days, it’s likely you’d find her in the studio creating one of her functional experiments, or sharing with her students how ceramics is a union of beauty and science.
