Jaslin Poh is a ceramicist who specialises in integrating wheel-thrown forms with hand-building techniques. She studies the characteristics of her clay materials to bring out their distinctive qualities in sculptural and functional forms. Her interest lies in experimenting with varied firing methods such as raku firing, pit firing and wood firing, which produce unpredictable finishing effects.
“When passion becomes work, enjoyment naturally follows. Witnessing students practising diligently fills me with indescribable emotion. I often encourage them to learn with their initial enthusiasm and to never give up easily, because it's all worthwhile!” – Jaslin
