Perlyn Chee started hand-building ceramic art in 2018 as a hobby, with guidance from artist Auyong Tiansoo. In 2020, Perlyn joined 3Arts for intensive wheel-throwing training with Master Potter Tom Lim, eventually becoming an instructor and potter herself.
Perlyn is adventurous in trying different mediums and techniques in her artworks. She has participated in wood firing in Malaysia and Japan, as well as gas firing, pit firing, and raku firing locally. She aims to gain a deeper understanding and knowledge of the art of ceramics making.
As a potter, Perlyn designs and produces unique ceramic artworks by applying the knowledge she has gained from her diverse experiences. She draws inspiration from her experimentation with different firing techniques to produce one-of-a-kind pieces that showcase her innovative approach to ceramics.
