Raku Firing

Raku is a low fire kiln process which involves removing the pottery from the kiln when it is red hot at ~900ºC and placed into a tight enclosed space with combustible materials (eg. paper/ sawdust) to encourage carbon trapping. This low-firing technique unlocks a myriad of colours depending on the glaze applied.
